
Adam Wallace is honored to serve in his first year as the Assistant Band Director at Richard Allie MS in Crowley ISD, where he currently teaches the non-varsity band and beginning courses in percussion, clarinet, and saxophone. Outside of Crowley ISD, Adam is in his fourth season on staff with the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra, where he serves as an ensemble manager and guest conductor for the Wind Ensemble and Junior Wind Ensemble, and works in administration as an operations associate and as the FWYO Summer Coordinator. Adam recently graduated with his Master of Music degree in Wind Band Conducting from Texas Christian University, where he also served as a graduate assistant for the university band program. Prior to TCU, Adam graduated cum laude from Stetson University in DeLand, FL with a Bachelor of Music Education and minor in Psychology, completing his student teaching with the Flagler Palm Coast HS band program under John Seth. Originally from Tampa, FL and a graduate of Gaither High School, Adam maintains a robust schedule through his service in music education.
For his work at TCU, Adam was awarded the Outstanding Graduate Service Award for the College of Fine Arts; he was additionally awarded Third Place in the 2025 American Prize in Conducting – College Band Division for his MM Conducting recital, and the youngest conducting finalist across all divisions. As a graduate assistant, he assisted in all artistic, teaching, and administrative aspects of TCU’s comprehensive band program: these duties included guest conducting the wind & athletic bands, assist in the band’s recording projects and 2025 CBDNA Convention as a video producer and editing consultant, and travel with the athletic bands across the country. Outside of the band program, Adam represented the College of Fine Arts on the Graduate Student Senate and served on the university’s campus master plan and academic appeal committees. Adam continues to work with the TCU Band, where he will be working his fourth year at the TCU Middle & High School summer music camps.

Prior to joining Crowley ISD as a band director, Adam maintained an active schedule as a marching instructor, guest conductor, and chamber coach throughout the Metroplex, maintaining a large teaching studio in the Grand Prairie, Mansfield, and Crowley Independent School Districts and previously teaching students in Burleson, Joshua, and White Settlement ISDs. Former saxophone students of Adam have succeeded in the TMEA All-Region and Area contests, as well as Houston Underground, and have performed at the Midwest Clinic and TMEA Convention. A dedicated researcher, Adam’s current research focus is on the transcription of under-performed instrumental music for concert band, and the wind band music of under-performed composers.
During his time in Florida, Adam maintained an active schedule as a saxophone/marching instructor, teaching apprentice, and student worker coordinator. In 2021, Adam served a term as president of Stetson’s NAfME Collegiate chapter, representing the interests of seventy music education students to the university. In 2020, He was named a recipient of the Stetson SURE Research grant for his research cataloging prior performances of the Stetson band and was additionally a recipient of several university scholarships & awards.
As a saxophonist, Adam was an active performer in the Stetson Band program, performed in saxophone quartets every semester, collaborated with Stetson’s guitar and composition studios, and prepared transcriptions for the saxophone ensemble. He continues to perform in ensembles every chance possible and is continuing to learn percussion & clarinet!
Adam’s professional memberships include the Texas Music Educators Association, National Band Association, College Band Directors National Association, and the National Association for Music Education. Outside of music, he enjoys reading, watching his favorite sports teams, and going on misadventures with his girlfriend Alexandra and her pet mantids.
