Cataloging, Documenting, Preserving

The Stetson University Band program will enter its hundredth year of existence in 2026. In preparation of this milestone for one of Florida’s oldest collegiate band programs, Adam sought to assistance in documenting the repertoire, performances, and personnel during the tenure of Richard Feasel, a “double hatter” (BM 1942, MA 1947), Professor Emeritus, and the first named Director of Bands at Stetson University.

In the Summer of 2020, Adam was named a recipient of the Stetson Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) grant and has published his research from his summer intensive studies. Titled “Stetson University Band Program 1955-1974: Repertoire, Performances, and Personnel Under Richard Feasel”, he has presented his research at the 2021 Florida Undergraduate Research Conference and at the 2021 Stetson Showcase.

Access to Adam’s undergraduate research document is available at the download link below. Enjoy this insight into the history of the Stetson Band during the mid-twentieth century!
